It’s 5 days that I’ve not played slot-machine games; I lost about 1400euros which is too much for me as a new migrant who has nothing except thang a job, problem was not only the money but the time and my social prestige too!

It was really near to distroy my life! Each time I was playing until end of work time of the club or until the last 10cent in my pocket to won the lost money but no chance!, sometimes I withdrawn from my credit card too!

Suddenly I realized that I’m destroying my life, I tried to quit playing slot-machine but many attempts were unsuccessfull untill I askd google “how to quit gambling?” I found here which was really useful.

If I used the time I waste with slot-machine to learn a new technology I would master that technolgy.! Some days 10 consecutive hours! Another thing that helped me was focusing on my job and work which I love it, It made me hate slot-machine.

Anyway , I’m happy that I really hate the slot machine and can’t even imagin than I’ll try it again…I HOPE I’LL NOT TRY IT AGAIN.

      The lessons I got:

      • Avoiding the loss in any phase or step is a great benefit
      • There are much better things to have fun with
      • People they make efforts and do good and right job are elligible for a comfort life not the ones who does nothing except than waiting and looking for easy money

I played slots for many years and when I admitted I had a problem it probably took me 10 years of effort to finally feel free of the addiction and even now I know I could slip back…

There are better things to have fun with. For me it is walking, for some gaming without any stake involved, for others music. Making sure I limit the amount of money I carry and avoid any gambling atmosphere is the best I can do – as well as letting people close to me know of my problem and getting good support. Hope some of this will work for you too. I wish you well.

      Thanks for your comment.

      2 days more and now it’s 7 days that I’m clean! 🙂

Honestly today evening after work, I had temptation to play again a little but I overcome that feeling. This weekend is really important I’m free and I will definitly avoid going to the places that have slot-machines.

Now I feel how much support is important. Your advices and posts and shring something is really a great support.

Weekends were always the most dangerous times for me. Weaker at the weekend! I found finding things that took up whole days worked for me. Day workshops on anything non gambling. I’ve tried tai chi, dowsing, day walks and dancing. Not very good at any of them but they took my mind off gambling. Keep strong and have a good weekend.

Today was Friday, now it’s 8 days that I’m clean… normally on Fridays at work place we are closing sooner(3PM), last Fridays I was hurrying up with passion! 🙂 to go to the bar to play slot-machine until middle of night but today I didn’t went there… instead of it I did something else, I went to another place to play cone(in Germany it ‘s called “kegel”) with some old mans so I replaced something for Fridays!.
Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow too I’ll not go to that damn bar, I know they’ll be wainting and expecting for me to go there and spend hunderds of euros on their slot-machines but I’ll defenitly not go there more at all! to give them a “middle finger signal”!
