Walking in the darkness. surrounded by fear
no hope no joy, only emptiness here.
that was the moment 30 months ago
before my senses began to flow.
looking back at those loath filled days
when life was just a gambling haze
i remember the feelings. it keeps me straight
now for tomorrow i cannot wait.
a life full of hope, happiness and joy
i look with pride at my little boy
for all who find the strength to follow the path
your tears replaced by a smile and a laugh.
whether at day one or further along the track
take one step forward and never turn back.
no longer do i hate myself
i have my life my family and health
