I’m 22 years old and I’m a gambling addict. The past year however I have not bet on the football or in a casino or any type of machine since June 15th 2014. I was doing so well, before that I was an addict I would ask my family for money, they would think it was for uni stuff or food etc, but I would just spend it at William Hill or at the casino. I knew I had to stop because this year I’ll be having to start work after university, so I did so, I suspended all online accounts and resisted the urge to go into a casino.
But the past 2 weeks I have been betting on FIFA playing people around the world for money, I’m currently £200ish down, I can’t stop as I know I’ve just been unlucky and can win my money back, u like betting in a casino or bookies I think I can control the outcome.
I need to stop doing this I know that once I stop I will be fine, but it’s difficult for me to do so having lost so much, I want to make the money back.
Hi Ricky,
I wish you would just say goodbye to your £200ish before it becomes £400ish. Someone has to lose for anyone to win. The thing about the addicted gambler is we keep on betting until we are the big loser. You sound like you want to be a responsible person, so do the right thing and get out of that betting ring. You can do it! You have goals that are not going to be met if you continue….trust me, that money is gone, don’t add to your misery!
