A poem for Geordie
The past few months have been very hard for you
Seeing the ill health your father has gone through
But you have been there for him each precious day
‘Thank you son’ – is what to you – he’d have to say
He knew you were there with him by his side
And he knew you were a changed man inside
He listened to the words that you had to say
When you held his hand before he passed away
He is now looking down on you from above
And will watch over you with his fatherly love
He will be with you – by your side each day
Saying ‘Go on my son – live just for today’
