Quick introduction. I am a 26 year old guy with gambling addiction. I lost a lot during this year and told it to my girlfriend. Ofcourse, she got mad at me.
Luckily, I have this kind and understanding girlfriend that still supported me. I promised her that I will stop gambling already.
Fast forward after 2 weeks, I am gambling free. But when a business travel came upon me, I was alone here in Bangkok for 28 days and decided to gamble a small amount.
I thought that it would not hurt since it is just a small amount. After 1 week, I already lost around 600USD and it is a big amount here in the Philippines.I am sick to my stomach. I betrayed my girlfriend and myself. I really need to stop this evil addiction. I ask the online gambling site to exclude me.
I also left all the gambling groups that I have in facebook. Hopefully this will be the start of something new. I dont want to lose my family and my girlfriend because of my addiction 🙁 -

Hello and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)
And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
Take care
The Gambling Therapy Team

PS: Let me just remind you to take a look at our privacy policy and terms and conditions so you know how it all works!

Glad to have you here. If I could give you any advise, it would be to write down all those reasons you want to quit and keep them on you at all times (maybe in wallet). When you get the urge to gamble take that list out and read them. Stay close to this site as well. We can’t just “try” to quit gambling, we must take control of our addiction. I’ve come to realize this over the years, the more you put into something the more you will get out: so the more we put into our quits, the more time/effort/etc the more likely we will be to be free of gambling.
Stay strong and reach out as often as possible. You can do this, we are here to help!
