Being positive when you feel like crap can often be hard. It is for me. But what I have discovered in my profession and from my own personal experiences, it’s what keeps you going.. And hearing others finding positives can be helpful to. So I thought I would give this a go and see how other recovering CGers feel about it. Keeping in mind, once you post… You’ll get notification of other posts. So a quick glance at your phone or lap top, my just lift you or make you feel motivated to keep going. It can also inspire or help someone get back on track. After all.. We all want the same thing.. To live and live gamble free.

I will be able to wake up in the morning and not feel panic over what I did the night before.

We won’t have that awful feeling in the pit of our stomach.. A mixture or fear and regret!!
We will feel normal and enjoy normal stuff -

That is such a good feeling BU. You are doing well at the moment. Today is day 12 for me. If I hadn’t lasped today would have been day 30 and that would mean a new keyring in GA. Gutted by this, but can take heart from the fact that in the last 30 days I have only gambled 1.5 hours. I did lose 300 so that works out at £10 a day. If I save £10 a day that would be amazing, so now I decide that I have earned an extra £10 every day I do not gamble.
Have a great day, you are doing so well. Really proud, I hope your hubby and kids are too. You should share your success with them so you can all feel the positivity.

Yep, paying yourself for not gambling is a reward in itself. Good slant on things. I like it! In that’s case, based on my last gambling stint, im earning 200 a day but that’s not realistic. On my smaller and regular gambles I guess I’m earning 10-15 a day. Good start for saving for something special eh like my wedding. : ) cheers for that mav..,

Today is not so much of a challenge to get through.
Not regretting yesterday.. Didn’t hurt myself through gambling.
Not feeling guilty for yesterday because I didn’t gamble
Not feeling ashamed for yesterday because I didn’t gamble
Not calling myself stupid for yesterday. Because I didn’t gamble
Much easier to face today because I didn’t gamble
Therefore I am loving today because it makes me feel good.
This is the feeling I get up each morning because i haven’t gambled for a few weeks now.
It is getting so much easier.
Keep going people’s!! Life is what you make it. -

Took my wife and sister out to a wonderful 3 course meal tonight. So nice to say, “my treat!” and genuinely be glad to provide them with something enjoyable and good. Felt great! Couldn’t have had that satisfied and joyful experience had I been gambling.

Time alone. I’m actually learning to rest and relax without my eyes glued to slots on my lap top. Strange feeling but I like it.

Knowing that if I stay clean, I won’t have to go through that pain again.

I was looking for a comment of yours I read on another thread a day or two ago, but cant find it.
It was something like, life is good without gambling, but you were wondering if it were the calm before the storm.
Of course it isn’t, the “buzz” of a gamble free life does wear off, but there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that a happy period in life has to be destroyed by gambling.
Am pleased things are a lot better for you 🙂

HI BU
It’s been a while since you posted, how are you doing? I pray you are still gamble free and that you are moving into recovery. Things are tough for me at the moment in terms of my mental health but I haven’t placed a bet for 29 days which is a personal record. The truth is that I have no urges to gamble, what’s the point? I have achieved everything I wanted to do through gambling and that is ruin my life. I am starting to believe that deep down that is what I wanted to do, what I always do. Ruin everything good in my life as I do not deserve anything better.
You take care and let us knowhow you are doing
