Day 4 pokie free – but only because I have run out of money. Tomorrow is payday and I really really want to make a better choice tomorrow. It’s less about money and more about filling voids and playing games that triggers me. I seem to have lost my self-discipline as I get older. Have taken first step today and will be putting in place a plan for tomorrow. Hoping I will have good news to report in 2 days!

Great to recognize your trigger and anticipate your feelings. The key to stopping gambling is not to place that next bet – one day (or one hour) at a time. When you get an urge to gamble play the tape all the way through to the end – How are you going to feel after you have lost all your money (plus some in my case)…. it’s more than the great times… I use to regularly play until my last dollar was gone. Keep busy and keep posting!!

Did you manage to get through it?

Don’t “hope”…believe! You CAN quit. Accountability is on yourself. You are the master of your fate…you can choose to live a life without gambling.
