Hello everyone, I’m very new here but not new to being a compulsive gambler with a major problem, I had been free from gambling for 10 years been to Gamblers Anonymous, Yet now it’s not like i can be away from gambling go out, gambling at bookies arcades casino’s stay home gamble via TV, Internet, everywhere i turn there is temptation to gamble I am Very low in my state of mind also and feel i have nowhere to turn, I don’t know anymore. I have put bet filter on but able to bypass it I just feel so Low, sorry if this seems like complaining or if its in the wrong place. Thanks in advance Steve

Don’t apologise, this ios the place to get your thoughts out whatever they are.

While it might not feel like it right now i see some good news. You stopped for ten years!! Well done. So you know the things that have helped you in the past? Are you still going to GA? If not then did it help you in the past?

What other thigns have helped you in the past? What barriers can you put in place?

As I said the good news is that you stopped for ten years, now back to basics and the things that help you before.

This time you can use this site as well and be stronger still.

Hi, Thanks for replying I no longer go to GA have not been there for many years since what happened last April I have spoken to the person who runs the local meeting and due to what happened i find it difficult to return to that meeting & then next meeting is 70 miles away.
Last time barriers in place was not carrying money, account for my time, if i have money then to be accountable for what i have spent with receipts, this is in place now .

I know i cant run away from gambling places as they are everywhere i don’t even have to leave the house, that’s where i feel the problem is right at this moment in time, as well as the way I feel about myself and my emotions are all over the place.

I also find it awkward in my work place as it’s a call center and lots of gambling going on like the incentives and stuff that doesn’t help, not sure if i’m just babbling on now.

I see you have already started to try to arrest this addiction again. You are the very proof that it can be done. Well done on all those years!

Hi Steve, As you feel gambling at home is a big problem at the moment then try and get a blocker on your PC. talk to your telephone service provided to block those sites. You can do this.
