My wife, (now ex-wife) left me July 2017.  Fortunately, there are no kids.  This was before any of my gambling started.  I make about $15 an hour and was stuck in an apartment I did not believe I was going to be able to afford.  In panic started hitting the casino.  Experiencing big wins early got me hooked. Then, would come the losses and the carrot chasing trying to recoup the losses.

Being married for 10 yrs, I developed good credit.   After maxing out the one credit card I had I soon thereafter turned to taking out personal loans.  

1st CC–$`11,100; 

Payday loan– $795.00 (paid back)

Personal Loan 1-  $7,000.00  

2nd CC for Entrepreneurial Conference– $10,000 to start a business that has failed

3rd CC– $6500,00  “” Entrepreneurial Conference

2nd PayDay loan–$795.00 ( almost two weeks overdue at 330% apr

1st Installment loan- $5000.00 (just short of $9,500.00) after life of loan

2nd installment loan $500  (between $2250.00) after life of loan

3rd installment $3500 ($7000.00) after life of loan

This is all within a year.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO START WITH THIS DEBT.

I have no clue as what to do other than to stop gambling.  As well as deleting the fake money casino apps from Facebook on my phone.

Hi Matt,
Congratulations on finding GT.
Throwing good money after bad only creates more debt.
Been there, done that.
You could try to contact the creditors and ask for a repayment plan.
Just a thought.

Hi Deceived, welcome to the forum. Kin is right! Stop digging the hole. No more borrowing. No more gambling and adding more debt. Sounds easy but oh so hard. Where are you gambling? Casinos? Can you ban from these places not to be allowed back in? Is there someone who you know and trust that would handle your money for a little while? Not having temptation can help a lot. I’m also wondering if there are any non profit credit counseling organizations where you are that could give you some advice on this situation. A consolidation, a repayment plan or possibly I’m wondering if bankruptcy is an option. A group like that would be better able to advise you. Then think over your options before you decide. The biggest thing you can do is admit you have a problem and start taking action to tackle it. Please let us know how you are doing. Take care,
