Two more sleeps until I leave. Mixed feelings. Excited to
see my wife and kids, and sad at leaving genuine pals
behind. -

Dude, awesome. So pleased. I hope you have been treating a dear friend of ours from GT well. We knew him as Charlster and my vacating brought him a place and how could I ever be sad about that. He had been an awesome friend to me on these forums before I went in, so I hope he is doing well.
Please pass on my love and thanks to the other guys. I was there for such a short time but the experience will live with me forever. Especially golf and my 1 Shanghai.
I am on day 97 today and am moving in the right direction one day at a time. I have joined NA as well as GA to start my step work. I am also getting the treatment I need at the National Problem Gambling Clinic.
Letting me go was the best thing that L could have done – he knows his stuff.
Say hi to everyone, I am overjoyed at your release, to see your wife and kids. Be good and thanks – you were a lovely housemate who showed me love when I needed it.
Be safe and good luck with the rest of your life.

What an amazing welcome from my wife and kids. So glad I made the decision to come home and stay. I have a great support network and am looking forward to rebuilding a happy family life.

Love the new name. Keep posting me old mucker, I hope you are well. So pleased you’ve gone home to your family, I remember how excited you got when you were able to speak with them.
Well done on completing the course, I wish you all the best with your new life.

Kids sports day today, helping with school trip
tomorrow, meeting an old friend tomorrow and
then drinks with a pal on Friday. Next week will
be about making some broad plans, so will be
in the library researching training courses etc.
Slow and steady….. -

Since leaving GMA on July 10th, I have had a constructive few days. I made an apology to a neighbour, who I had alienated through my poor behaviour, attended several school social events, been out for a few drinks with a new acquaintance, spent an afternoon with an old friend, self excluded from several casinos and cooked for my family.
I think I am following the GMA way. I have continued to budget, been honest and open and I have expressed my feelings and been keen to listen to my wife’s feelings and concerns.
This week I am seeing my probation officer and visiting the local CAB about a debt recovery order. Just like in GMA, I am taking things slowly; making realistic and achievable plans.
So far so good. -

Attended ex residents group yesterday. One attendee was in meltdown. Only left in December. Apparently he relapsed in relapse prevention. Recovery is fragile.

I knew it would be tough coming back after 14 weeks away. Generally it has been better than I expected. Had a night out on Friday with my wife, which was great. Unfortunately I seem to be trying to hard. I am keen to help with housework and cooking. My wife is interpreting this as me invading her territory. I am sure I was hands on before gambling got hold of me. Just need to be mindful and keep talking things through.

Name raised a smile.
How’s things? Drop me an email when you can and I’ll pass my new mobile number to you, if not I’ll get it to you another way.
I’ve just come out of GMA, but will be going back for the relapse programme. I’ll be sharing with The Coach again!
Be good to hear how your new life’s going,
Best wishes & take care,
Charlster aka (The Cyclone)
