I’m a 40 year old compulsive gambler. I’ve banned myself from physical casinos in the past, but still gamble online. I had actually stopped for over a year then had some extra cash and started right back up online at different places.

Realizing I need more help than just doing this on my own, I found this website. My gambling seems to follow my depression, the worse my depression, the easier it is to gamble and escape.

I look forward to reading the forums and getting into some chats.

I hope you can get involved in the support groups and find encouragement and strength to live in recovery. Do you have any help for your depression? It sounds like you suffer a kind of vicious cycle – depression followed by gambling, which then probably leads you to feel more depressed? It’s good you have made the step of writing here – and I hope you will benefit from chats, the support groups and both reading and writing on this Forum.
