Today is my five year anniversary.
Five years ago today I placed my last bet and then immediately self-excluded. In the last five years I’ve been to casinos multiple times and actually went to Las Vegas once and at no point was I tempted to gamble.
People need to understand that if you can be honest with yourself and admit you have a problem you can beat gambling addiction. The minute you try to justify „controlled betting” you’ve lost.
Total abstention is the only way but the longer you go the more you’ll realize that you never really liked gambling in the first place, it was just filling a void. We need to fill that void with something constructive!
