Well, I’m not exactly happy to be here. Not because I don’t like the site, but because I hate the reason I am here. I am definitely a compulsive gambler. Even at the young age of 21, I became ensnared in gambling’s web of troubles and problems. Over the course of a year, I’ve managed to put myself over my head in credit card debt, maneuvering bills around to make sure each one gets paid in relatively quick timing. I first started out just gambling a little bit every little while. Soon it became, an every week occurrence, and soon multiple times a week. I had tried the “cold turkey” method, however I realized quickly I couldn’t do it alone. Now, I’m coming to this site, as well as to Safe Harbor, to regain my life through the help of other people like me. I have a goal. I am starting a new teaching job next month. I can see that I can completely be debt free in one year, and it is my goal to use the money I used to gamble with to pay off my credit card and regain complete control over my life. Gambling may have changed things for a little while, but I am committed to beating this thing and living the life I always dreamed of, not the one that it has become. I can’t wait to meet all of you on here, and I look forward to hearing all of your uplifting stories! Together, we can fight this battle and win the war!
