Just a quick one to start of for me… 23 years old I was at the Gordon moody rehab house in London when I was 20 did the 14 week programme thought everything was great came home and was gamble free for 14 months then one thing lead to another and found myself stuck in the root again. Part of me thinks it didn’t help going back to the same lifestyle again but I can’t be 100% sure. Anyway luckily I’ve been accepted back on the programme this year I think roughly March time hard thing is my first child is due end of February so I’m going to miss the first part of her life. I keep telling myself what’s 14 weeks in exchange for 50 years of gamble free life. I have a fiance that loves me and just wants me to break free from the gambling and see me enjoy life. I’m annoyed that’s it’s lead to me having to do it a second time but things happen and if someone said before your gamble free you will go to rehab 4 times I’d do it.
Anyway that’s a little about me. -

Hello Danny and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)
And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
Take care

Hi Danny,
Well done on getting back on the programme at Gordon Moody. March will sooin come. What things can you do in the meantime though? What barriers have you put in place that will help you stay gamble free between now and then?
Read the other stories here, what things are helping others that you can apply to your own situation?
Keep posting.
