I am only young 19. Gambled since the age of 17 but have an exciting prospect of a career just need guidance I’ve calmed right down now reading stories of what has happened through gambling, ruining people’s life’s. I am in a much better place hardly gamble £10 a week if that on sports my main demon is chasing losses, could loose £10 and within half hour I have switched to casino wasting £30 a spin just trying to get even. Been times I have lost hundreds of pounds bearing in mind I’m an apprentice. I always manage to hide my losses which was wrong of me, never told one person about my gambling because I believe I am strong enough to take my losses on the chin. Reading stories on here have really changed my future, truthfully. Use all have motivated me to stay in the mindset I am now and I will log in here every day just to read the stories to keep me motivated. I am happy spending £10/£20 a week on sports (football) but I realise chasing losses is not good for anyone and that will never happen again I will make sure. I have took loans out at the age of 19 just to show I have money to loved ones even though I have lost my original money and gambled huge amounts for my age but the future is looking bright now. Thanks to everyone even loved ones who worry about husbands etc because I am putting that in prospective that this could be my mam or girlfriend worrying about me and it is awful. Motivated me a hell of a lot. My problem is no where near the heights of some others on here but I’m not going to either it stops now

Great to read Hammo, take it from me when I was your age I thought I could easily manage a weekly gambling budget. 30 years later after 5 prison sentences 3 periods in rehab, suicide attempts and homelessness. I really regret it.
You have your whole life ahead now. A great post to read try and knock it on the head completely though. Your £100 a week footy bet could be paid off your loan. Believe me mate life can be great without a gambling in it. For a compulsive gambler, when gambling even a little bit, life is seldom any better than shit!
Please pop back from time to time to let us know how life is going, you can be entirely honest here, no one will judge you.
All the best mate.

Exactly right mate. I only do £10 footy bets though not £100 that would be my weekly apprentice wage haha! I completely understand what your saying and for the last 2 weeks I haven’t put a bet on a Saturday so it’s going great! Thanks for the support mate hugely appriciated! Take your advice fully on board and try to knock it on the head completely before it’s too late
