I have been in the UK on vacaction since Sunday – temptation is all around me – Ladbrokes, W Hill (Sports Betting), Slot machines all over the West End.
I will not lie – the temptation has been strong – the addictive part of my brain says "Just one bet – you are in a foreign country, no one will know". To which I respond, "I will know, and one bet will lead to insanity and the loss of all my funds".
As an additional precaution, I travel around with the minimum amount of funds (10 – 20 pounds). 500 pounds in my pocket would be unsafe this early in my recovery.
Off to the Finchley GA tonight, and staying in text contact with my sponsor back in Cape Town, South Africa.
