My name is C. I am a gambler. I have been gambling fr 30 years.
I keep it a secret life only known by a few.I have spent more money than I care to think about and I feel that thinking about what has been lost just ads to the problem. I joined here because I am close to ruin. I had to tell my many many creditors that I was not going to pay them for a month or two so I could recover some of what I earned as a salary so to put it short its been a crazy ride.
Did you know that every time you see an add from an online casino its been payed by a gamblers loss of money there? So in effect I have been paying for many add campaigns u may have seen in your living room.
I know this is not news but my mind is waking upp to the fact that I have been robbed. Ive been robbed of money, time, emotions and more time and more emotions and more money. My sole is damaged my life is ruined and its been done by thieves who use my money to lure others to do the same as I did.
When you start seing them as thieves which they most definately are you can cope to look at your own stupidity which is being duped by them. Im to damaged to cry and feel remorse I did that years ago when I was younger. I will at some stage soon feel it will be my mission to try and warn others not to be robbed like I was but to wake upp and see these vultures for what they really are. Theives and addicts as well because they are just as addicted to your money as you are addicted to their casinos. The greed they now go through makes your wallet more and more hollow. It makes the bonus rounds disapear for days at the time becuase the casinos need to make more of your money to pay for more of their add campaigns.
I learnt how to make (and loose) more money this year by playing online roulette. The casinos I played at all but shut down the ability after that to play slots fairly. So if you win at the roulette you lose at the slots because they can manipulate that. There has been upp to five different times I have complained that there has been no bonus rounds just to be given a bonus round when I have complained about it. The machines are rigged and The casinos control the flow of cash. Luck has got nothing and I mean nothing to do with it at all.
How will I recover. I have no clue. It may be to late for me It may also be a perfect time for me because I don´t feel like lying about who I am. If I gamble more on online casinos remains to be seen but I will try and help myself to do something else with my time because the best revenge I can have now is to show tmyself that I can survive this mess and move beyond.
My goal is to try and do something else. I will take it in small steps and trust in god and higher powers to get me through this.
I think our purpose is to learn from our time here. I intend to do that.
Thanks for your time.

Hey C…nice to meet you on here. Like others have said on here many times before. You have to admit you have a problem and need help. Then you have to get support and set up barriers to keep you from relapsing. Then it’s one day at a time. Good luck with your journey and keep posting.

Hi C and welcome, well done on looking for help.
Read the othe stories here, you will see a lot of stories similar to your own. You will also read the succes stories, what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?
As Stilltime says, get some barriers in place. You can get a blocker for your PC which will stop those online sites. Who could help you with financial accountability as well?
It is an addiction, you introduce yourself as a gambler. Maybe check out the 20 questions on the Gamblers Anonymnous website and you might change that to compulsive gambler, there is a big difference.
Keep posting and let us know what positive steps you are taking to help you avoid your next bet.

I saw panorama today reg FOBT and got both happy and sad to see what it is doing. Happy to see that people are trying to flag about the problems and sad that the regulators try and throw water over the fire. It angers me that there is such a disregard against humanity over the urge to make money. It was enlightening to. Seing the brain react to the gambling brings it home in another way. I do not want to end upp a statistic. Somewhere there should be a way of rewiring the brain to act and do different. I am aware that I am doing wrong but I still do wrong. In a way I am happy I am broke. It gives me time to look into these things and process. I just which there was a pill to take or something that calms the stuff down when one has money in the pocket.
