I’ve always loved the idea of documenting meaningful life experiences, and right now, we’re on the edge of something exciting—planning our very first family safari. I started writing a bit each day about the process, hoping to turn it into a journal we can look back on. Midway through this, I realized that figuring out how to plan a family safari in Africa is more than just picking a destination. It’s a journey in itself.
From reading about the different regions—Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana—to understanding the best seasons for game drives, to finding lodges that are both safe and child-friendly, it’s been a learning curve. We’re also trying to tie in a bit of personal growth, nature education, and quiet time as a family to reflect.
I’m using this forum space almost like a journal entry, and would love to hear from others who have done the same. How did you document your journey? What surprised you the most while planning? Hoping this becomes a shared space for inspiration, stories, and maybe even a few tips from families who’ve gone before us.
