Hello everyone in the last week i have been on a rollacoaster, I have lost £500 in 30 minutes online gambling (my holiday spending money) but i have also told all my close family members including my girlfriend i have a problem with gambling. This is the first time i have actually been open and honest to my family and i feel so much better already. The hate and the lost i thought i would go through was nothing as i kept telling myself, My girlfriend was so supportive and told me she respoects me much more for admitting to having a gambling problem and my family have all offered to help out with advice and support
I would say i have lost over 7k on gambling in 4 years and i am currently 14k in debt which i pay over three quarters of my salary paying back.
I need some adivce on the next steps for me, I am slightly confused on whether i should go to a GA meeting or should i seek help from my locasl gp, I say this because i think i need more one to one /helpwhere as i my understanding of GA is a group of people telling each other their gambling problems?
