This Step expresses a fundamental principle in our relationship with God that is expressed in numerous scriptural passages, including:

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

 

“Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5)

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12.1)
