In my case I feel I am compelled to lend when others are “stuck”. My motives are not always altruistic. Sometimes I give to make myself feel important . I give to make others dependent on me. I give to establish control over others. I give to get. It makes me feel like a big shot. Sometimes, I give because I feel others deserve MY money more than I do!? How about that!
