I reciently received £6000 from a poi claim , the company charge 39% for there services so I was to end up with about 3k .
The day te money cleared I used my 3k to pay off some debts I had and felt good but still had the other 3k in my bank , I wasn’t to happy paying 39% to this company and thought I could turn this money into more ?
Think you can see where this is going !
YES I lost the lot now I owe this company there fee still and really don’t know what to do or how to explain to them I no longer have there money !
I know my mistakes and nearly just played again with my months wages but refrained , ANY advise would be appreciated

Listen more important right now is to pay the money to them without explaining how this happened so that you can at least keep your job. Have you done anything like this before???
Put your bills on hold if you have to to get it done.
You must give up cards and and never let this happen again re your job.
Time to take big steps so that you can get this addiction under control. I don’t know anything about you but I can say this for certain. We need our jobs in order to live so please rethink ever putting your job on the line.
      Have you gambled for long.???
I hope you can seek help right away. Ban from the casino or put blockers on your computer. get someone you trust to control your funds for now.
I am working recovery every day now and though it isn’t easy it is going well. I have been gamble free for over 4 months now and never want to gamble again.
I used hypnotherapy to help me this time and have been completely honest with my family about my addiction. I have gambled for about 16 years off and on. The longest time I refrained was 9 months but at the time I was trying to prove to myself and my family I could stop if I wanted to. I was convinced I could gamble in control but that wasn’t true. I managed it for awhile but over time I lost a large amount of money and even with self imposed restrictions I was simply wasting money and working even harder to make up for my loses. I carried on like this for years until I found a way to get my hands on my line of credit while I was at the casino. Over 3 visits I spent 12 thousand and shocked myself into realizing that I was no longer able to control my addiction. I was forced to come clean to my hubby and with his support I continue to not gamble. I am working hard to pay back dept and my monthly commitments. Its tough and I wish I was done with it but I brought this on myself and myself will get me out of debt. I feel anxious and have urges often but I give a voice to them now and tell my hubby when I need his support. Its working one day at a time and I am happier now that I have stopped. FG.

Hi Garv, well done on looking for help.

Want to know what they will do? How about asking them? As you are talking in £ I’m assuming you are in the UK so whatever they say you can then get free expert advice from either the Citizens Advice bureau or Step Change.

To be honest though the problem isn’t the finances, it’s your gambling. One way or another your current situation will be sorted. What then?

Gambling addiction is progressive in nature, what can you do this time that you haven’t done before? Self exclusion? Gamblers Anonymosu meetigns? Financial barriers and accountability?

Keep posting and let us know what positive steps you are taking.
