A sweet spectre haunts my waking hours
it taunts and tricks with its pleasing powers
it tells me its easy to be rich but a ditch is being dug
like a hug from a loved one that cheated
or a rage that heated a sameness cage
of boredom and temptation and easy wins
it begins now, not that I know how
but a new start comes and then some
a new light beyond the old grave
ready for me to be saved
I must stay brave
