I am a recovering compulsive gambler and I’ve found getting counselling here on-line has really helped. My ‘gambling’ head is not winning the arguements as often now.
Take care

Hi again I think they are separate. Gordon House is a voluntary organisation as far as I know. I might be wrong though.
The gambling therapy home page might tell you more?
L
P.S. This is what it says on part of the page.
This site is provided and managed by the professional problem gambling therapists at the Gordon House Association, a specialist charity helping people with compulsive gambling problems. -

Hi Justin, Lorr…
I think GA is an organisation that’s run by its members… it’s not associated with Gordon House, or Gamcare, but of course at some level they must know about each other, they just don’t work together.
Gambling Therapy is run by Gordon House… most of the volunteers are people who have been helped by Gordon House in the past, and it’s managed by Gordon House counsellors.
When I was setting up Gambling Therapy I did have some emails with someone from GA, but then they didn’t reply. For myself, I’m very happy if GA groups want to use this forum, and I wish they all knew about GT… but no-one’s pushing it. The problem with GT is that it’s not got funding to advertise itself – it’s more or less running on empty.
I’d be really pleased if GA started to use this forum. If they wanted I could start a GA section… ? What do you think?

***** Tony – it seems a bit of a nonsense really that these associations don’t collaborate in some way. I mean the goal is to help people…..
Perhaps a local printer would sponser some labels to be printed for G/H?
I know when I used to go to the casino there was a sticker on the cash machine etc from Gam care…..
Perhaps there could be fund raisers?
I might be way off on this?
I’m just throwing out ideas.
L
Having just read the Background information about
Gambling Therapy – I can see that my suggestions are a bit primitive……….
